Oh my, what a day!!!!!

Yesterday was one of those days where you feel like crashing from all the excitement by the time the day is over. Mine, was pretty crazy!

My gender reveal doctors appointment was yesterday, and after you knowingly wait for four weeks...
you are anxious when it arrives.

So here is how it all went down....
My appointment wasn't scheduled until later on after lunch, but I was still planning to go to town earlier to meet mama. We ran into the "Babies R Us" section at Toys R Us, and then we were going to grab a bite to eat. Needless to say, I bit to eat had to be pretty quick. Mother didn't get her cinnamon rolls, which did set well with her, but Michael and I told her we would get Krispy Kreme afterwards! :)

Made it to the doctors appointment, only to realize that the nurse at my last one had gotten my weeks mixed up, and therefore, I was one week + some days off from what we thought. Seeing how anxious we were, they decided to go ahead with the ultrasound to see if the baby was positioned to where they could get a gender.

Must have been my lucky day, because the technician got a perfect view!!! After gathering the news, I decided to make a quick and short trip to Daddy's so that I could deliver the news to him and KenLynn personally. Only after letting my WONDERFUL friend Nana know! Came back to town and went to some stores, actually didn't buy much....hard to believe, yet true! Came home to tell the in-laws, and then CRASHED!!!

So, has the suspense killed you yet???? :)

We will be welcoming a little baby "GIRL" in December!!!!

Here's Hoping

Time has flown so much!

These past 13 weeks have went by so fast. Seems like it should be back to 4 weeks. If everything goes the right way, I should be able to find out the gender at my next doctor's appointment. That's not engraved in stone or anything, but if the little one is positioned the right way.

My family has been hilarious in the process. It is pretty much even for how many are hoping for boy, and how many for a girl. Ultimately anything as long as it is healthy. But, you can't help to be wishful.

So as for mommy and daddy.........

Crafting :)

Crafting is such a fun and relaxing hobby.
I recently found this cute idea online.

  • You take a small flower pot and put masking tape around the bottom base, leaving the edges and the tope rim uncovered.
  • Use chalkboard paint to paint the top rim of the pot.
  • Cut out photos or different artwork that you would like to use to decorate.
  • Take some decoupage glue and spread on the tape and the add the photos or artwork. Then use the glue to spread on the edges of the outside of the artwork to seal it.
  • Get a pack of flower seeds of your choice to put in the pot, and then use chalk to write a nice message along the rim.

Even in the storm:

Lately I have been thinking of all the tragedies that have faced families over the past year.

From the theater shooting, the mall, the tabernacle, the streets of Chicago, Newton, Firefighters who responded to the house fire prior to Christmas Eve, and so many more that may not have made the national news. I can't say that I have ever lost someone during a situation like these. Just to think of what these families have been through knowing that they lost a child, sibling, spouse, relative, or friend when they were just so innocent. This song came to mind when thinking about all these tragedies, and I hope that they may serve as encouragement to you too.

"Praise You In This Storm"
I was sure by now
God You would have reached down
And wiped our tears away
Stepped in and saved the day
But once again, I say "Amen", and it's still raining

As the thunder rolls
I barely hear Your whisper through the rain
"I'm with you"
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God who gives
And takes away

[Chorus:]
And I'll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I am
And every tear I've cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm

I remember when
I stumbled in the wind
You heard my cry to you
And you raised me up again
My strength is almost gone
How can I carry on
If I can't find You

But as the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain
"I'm with you"
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God who gives
And takes away

[Chorus]

I lift my eyes unto the hills
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord
The Maker of Heaven and Earth

I'm back!!!

Well, it has been awhile. Sorry :(

Needless to say that with Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year, etc. You kind of get lost in the moments, and forget to keep the world updated. Hope everyone had a WONDERFUL Holiday season!! I did, now time to shed all the pounds back off! LOL

I was randomly going through YouTube watching different videos, and one caught my attention. It was a young girl who made the video sharing how her life was, considering she was always bullied. She told her story and then gave encouraging comments to those who may been watching. It really broke my heart, because you could tell the she was trying really hard not to cry. Even though I have NEVER experienced anything like this before, I thought it would be cool to share some of my crazy, unique secrets that makes me....ME!!
  1. I absolutely can't sleep with my arms under the covers
  2. When I eat grits, eggs, and sausage...I MIX them all together
  3. I have to fold my own clothes; thanks for the kindness, but I will only undo the clothes you just folded for me.
  4. Towels and wash cloths have to be folded and laid the same way.
  5. DO NOT touch something on my plate of food.
  6. I Clorox the tables at restaurants when I go to eat.
  7. Can't stand walking around barefoot (even in the house)
  8. When I am alone driving, I sing as LOUD as possible
  9. I am insecure about my looks and weight
  10. I am my sister's biggest fan in life
  11. I go through a WHOLE box of hot chocolate in one week
  12. I HATE anything that involves EDUCATION...even though I know it is a MUST!
  13. I love to cook/bake
  14. I love to IRON
  15. There is so much more............
I could have added more, but the point is:
We are all our own unique individuals self. With a unique personality. You are who are, and you should be proud. Don't ever let someone try to change you. BE YOU!!!
